Book Review: "Ishq Mubarak" by Kuldeep Raghav is a romantic thriller based on the uncertainties of love, life, and the choices we make to fulfill our dreams. The plot revolves around struggle, hardship, passion, music, and love. The author has provided various insights deepening in a new age comprehension of the choices we make. The characters develop well throughout the book, and one feels empathy towards all of them when the book ends.

Mir, hailing from a poor family, lost his father early in life and eventually loses his mother too. Having lost both of his parents before attaining the prime of his career, his life is replete with examples of patience and perseverance. Mir falls in love with Vandana and their love story unfolds well until a chance meeting with Sahiba, while on a flight, leaves Mir questioning where his true feelings lie. The title of the book coincides with a lead single off Mir's track who goes on to become a guitarist and singer. Will Mir and Sahiba be together despite her being married and having two children? What will happen when Vandana finds out about Mir and Sahiba? One must read to find out.

This book will appeal to romance fiction lovers who are beginning to feel comfortable with Hindi writing. The entire book is in Hindi and the language is simple and lucid. Besides there are no complicacy in plot and the author has been, in most cases, clear with his thoughts while penning them down. The choices we make in life can be disastrous, despite us feeling comfortable in our own cocoon, and that is where the essence of this book stems from.
