Book Review: "Moral Fiber" by Shawn Vij is a self-help book on moral and business ethics. Inspired after a meeting with the Dalai Lama, the author has penned some valuable insights from Buddhism and tried to correlate them with corporate life. The book contains a foreword from the Dalai Lama which intrigues the readers to explore more content within the pages. There are a total of nine chapters that delve into the past and the present life of the author, citing many examples and stories as we progress.

An interesting feature of the book is that we get to read the journey undertaken by the author and the decisions he took at every junction which helped shape the future. Every chapter contains a tagline definition in the opening artwork. The book asks the questions, why we lose our values and how we create toxic environments while hinting at solutions such as rediscovering values vis-a-vis practicing compassion. The author believes in capitalism but with gratitude and wisdom. It is a simple guide to being true to yourself and inculcating 'Fiber' to acting on your values. There exists a well-defined network of points, flowcharts and diagrams in the penultimate chapter to highlight positivities stemming from a better world.

This book will appeal to readers who love reading entrepreneurial success mantras. The last chapter contains some real-life examples of 'Hall of Fame' people who succeeded using 'Fiber'. A worthwhile read where the author shares his journey that he took from being the man who said, "It's not personal, it's just business," to becoming the man who says, "It's business and it's always personal." Filled with tips, tales, and tools to identify and eliminate toxic behaviors, 'Moral Fiber' takes an innovative and secular approach to business in unlocking a more purposeful life and career.
