Author Bio: (from book) JNK is the pen name of the author. Born and brought up in Chandigarh, she comes from a middle class family. She studied at Punjab University, Chandigarh. Writing stories has always been her passion, but the wings to her passion were given to her by her daughter and her father. Apart from writing, she enjoys travelling and cooking.

Book Review: "Freedom: Human Trafficking and Encounter with Soul" by JNK is a book containing a longer story on a crime thriller and a shorter one from the inspirational genre. Both the stories are not connected and yet they are full of morale. The author has done a commendable job introducing the short story at the end which helps ease the tension after the climax of the original longer story. The plots are well written along with a plethora of wonderful characters.

Honey, the protagonist of the main story, is working with Mr. Bobby, the most famous detective in town, to solve a case of human trafficking. Together with the help of Monica, the receptionist at her office, Honey goes undercover and bares all in order to solve the case involving prominent domestic and international dignitaries who appear gentlemanly on the outside but are criminals inside. Honey puts her heart and soul to bust the racket along with her long time friend Samar, who is now in the police force! Can Honey succeed in grabbing all the criminals while also maintaining her personal relationship with her mom? Read to find out. Also waiting is a motivational short story in the end where we walk in the shoes of little Rasbeen as she fights her depression of getting fewer marks in her pre-board exams and tries to study harder for her Class X boards with a little help from the friendly Soul!

This book will appeal to readers who enjoy reading detective crime thrillers. The main story is quite interesting but in some places, the protagonist seemed much too superhuman to deal with stuff alone. However, that will not deter the reader from appreciating the imagination of the author who has highlighted some key social issues in this plot. Even the encounter with Soul short story is praiseworthy for assessing the mental difficulties of modern teenagers. This is a commendable and well-researched book for sure!
