Book Review: "Yours Legally: A Collection of Short Stories" by Sonia Sahijwani is a collection of six short stories inspired by legal topics. The six stories are based on the Complainant, the Court, the Case, the Counsel, the Confinement and the Criminal. The author has provided a beautiful two-line quotation at the beginning of each story which compliments the succeeding paragraphs. This collection may be based on the author's personal experiences. It serves to educate, highlight and enlighten readers on what actually goes on in the legal front.

Sia, the protagonist of the story, is a fresh graduate in LLB. She embarks on a journey to know more about the legal profession. The stories are mainly related to her experiences and observations while facing a situation in and out of courtrooms. Her thirst for improvement goes on to narrate us about how the court works, the role played by lawyers inside courtrooms, the day-to-day trials and proceedings, behavior of witnesses and most importantly all the wonderful people she had the opportunity to work with. The stories reflect a more humane side of justice where we do not lose faith in our judiciary. The author has done a commendable job writing about the law which restores the faith of the public in our judicial system. 'Just' decision by lawyers, cooperation among colleagues, and finding justice even against all odds is what drives the characters inside these pages.

This book will appeal to a lot of readers since it is quite informative and answers many questions related to the criminal world. The description of courtrooms, prisons, and offices belonging to lawyers are thorough. The plot deals with not only the lawyers' side of the story but speak also about the convicts' side. It is indeed a new venture where readers won't look at the law the same way again after reading this book. A powerful message has been conveyed through these stories - no one is born a criminal and that humanity exists even during the darkest of times!
